Movable Heritage Care Specialist, Depository Manager of the Strahov Monastery
The Royal Canonry of Premonstratensians at Strahov is a significant ecclesiastical institution and a custodian of historical collections that rank among the most exceptional of their kind in the Czech Republic.
Among its permanent priorities are the care and management of its heritage and collections, not only at the Strahov Monastery but also at other monastery sites such as Milevsko, the pilgrimage church in Sepekov, the Basilica of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary at Svatý Kopeček near Olomouc, and the Basilica in Doksany.
What awaits you
- Comprehensive care for historical movable items of the monastery
- Inventory, cataloging, restoration, and management of depositories
- Collaboration with state and local government institutions
- Cooperation with art collection curators, external restorers, and providing technical support for digitization projects
- Handling, storing, packaging, and providing basic care for collection items
- Ensuring and monitoring appropriate conditions in exhibitions and monastery depositories
What knowledge and skills should you have
- At least secondary education with a diploma, ideally in conservation, restoration, or related fields of art
- Proficiency in using PC and MS Office
- Active driver with a valid category B driver’s license
- Manual dexterity and physical ability to handle collections
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work with people
- Responsibility, reliability, and loyalty
- Clean criminal record
What we offer
- Salary: 33,000 – 35,000 CZK
