Spiritual Programs

The Jubilee Year is not just a personal opportunity to experience God's closeness, but also an invitation to embark on a journey of encountering community. Therefore, we invite you to the **spiritual program** that we are preparing for you, and to which you are warmly welcomed to participate.

Spiritual Programs for Visitors of the Strahov Basilica

  • Daily Holy Masses: at 7:15 AM and 6:00 PM, and on Sundays at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • Confessions: available daily before the evening Mass and also before the morning Mass on Sundays.  
  • Pilgrimage Groups: We are happy to provide all sacramental services and allow the celebration of Mass either in the main nave of the basilica or in the side chapel at the relics of St. Norbert.  
  • First Saturdays of the Month: The Sacrament of Reconciliation and spiritual conversation are available in the basilica from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.  

Lenten Season

  • The Way of the Cross will take place in the basilica and on Petřín Hill.  
  • A Lenten spiritual retreat for parishioners and interested participants is planned for March 15, led by Fr. Angelo Scarano.  
  • On Saturday, April 5, a walking pilgrimage from the Strahov Basilica to Hájek will take place (program details to be announced).  
  • Three Evenings of Mercy will be held on Friday evenings before the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of Lent, featuring a penitential devotion and an opportunity for confession.  

Weekly Devotions and Services

  • Vespers prayer during Mass every Wednesday.  
  • Eucharistic Adoration every Thursday after the 6:00 PM Mass, from 6:40 PM to 7:15 PM.  
  • Those wishing to join us for Morning Prayer or Vespers in the choir are welcome; please register in advance with Fr. Mikuláš.  

Advent and Lenten Programs

  • Musical-visual meditation during Sunday Vespers (dates to be announced).  
  • Advent spiritual retreat planned during Advent.  

Bible Study

  • Led by Fr. Gorazd every two weeks on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Strahov rectory. Contact Fr. Gorazd for more information.

May Devotions

  • In May, we will hold Marian devotions and pray the Rosary before Mass.  

October Rosary

  • Throughout October, the Rosary will be prayed before each evening Mass.  

First Saturdays of the Month

After the evening Mass, a Marian devotion takes place, including a pilgrimage from the basilica to the statue of Our Lady of Exile in the monastery garden (weather permitting).
